Nielsen//NetRatings reports the number of visitors to online shopping portals in Spain has risen by 31% over the past year. Online shopping is increasingly popular in Spain, with nearly 2.8 million Internet users shopping online in June 2004, according to Nielsen. Though the number of visits Spanish online shoppers made to online shopping portals in June of this year has decreased from June 2003, the total number of shopping portal pages visited is up by 26%. ![]() Nielsen finds the top five shopping portals among online shoppers in Spain include eBay, claiming the number one spot wih 894,000 unique visitors in June, and the Web site for El Corte Ingles, the popular Spanish department store, which follows eBay in second place. Shopping portal Ciao! claims third place with a unique audience of 581,000 in June 2004, pushing Kelkoo out of the spot it claimed in June 2003.
